Pride Café Dining Hall

Chester, Pennsylvania

This 3 million, 14,500 sf project is a complete renovation of existing servery and dining areas at Pride Café Dining Hall. It transformed this highly active campus facility into a more inviting and elegant atmosphere for dining and community gathering with upgraded serving stations, a wide array of food options, stylish finishes, modern furnishings and comfortable seating, – all accomplished within a layout that relieved congestion on both the employee and customer sides of the counter. Despite an open floor layout, the design solution created intimacy by carving out smaller areas within a larger volume using soffiting and multiple ceiling heights to make the space a bit more cozy for students. In addition to the food services, the renovation helps to generate a lot of positive energy and enhance the strong sense of community among the students.

Conceptual planning through construction and close-out were completed by BAA within a seven-month period.
