Located in Boston’s historic Leather District, BAA is a 54 - year - old firm with architects registered in 36 states, and counting. We are part of the U.S. Green Building Council, and the majority of our design team are LEED accredited, since we believe sustainability and durability are linchpins of great design.
Over the years, we have completed a wide variety of project types and sizes for academic, recreational, commercial, hospitality and municipal clients throughout the United States. We are an engaging and high-energy group of architects and designers known for shaping responsible yet inspired spaces. We take great pride in developing elegant solutions that not only meet the parameters set forth by our clients but also balance aesthetics, performance, and cost. Sixty percent of our business comes from repeat clients, proving there is a strong focus on ensuring design excellence and building lasting partnerships with stakeholder groups.
Through a diverse mix of our experience, we have gained invaluable working knowledge of various project types, design and delivery methods, as well as the latest technologies. BAA applies this knowledge to services that include architectural design (new construction and renovation), interior design, master planning, feasibility studies, programming, space planning, and construction administration.
“What is an architect?” When we asked our staff, almost to a person our team defined architects as “problem-solvers.” And that’s what we are. But what really sets us apart—is the approach we take to each project.
Listening: While we are innovative in our design expressions, we are also thoughtful about how spaces should function and feel. We strive to listen with a sense of humility to the goals of clients, users, operators, and communities to develop solutions that reflect their needs—and surpass their expectations. While we are experts in a wide range of building types, we also embrace new opportunities to grow and learn.
Collaboration. Architectural projects often involve many stakeholders, and it’s important to understand their diverse expectations and concerns. Through effective communication and collaboration, we build solid relationships with project team, the owner, facility groups, local municipalities, community groups and others throughout the architectural process to ensure all objectives are met.
Accountable: BAA consistently meets or exceeds project parameters for both schedule and budget. We take personally our responsibility to maximize our clients’ interests and satisfactions. A dedicated firm principal manages each project from beginning to end and is always just a call or text away. And the end result is a sensible and thoughtful space designed for people to not only use, but experience as well.
