Town of Falmouth - Public Library

Falmouth, Massachusetts

Beacon Architectural Associates was commissioned to renovate this 37,000sf library and create an 8,000sf addition. Located prominently in a picturesque Cape Cod town, the reimagined library was designed to meet a twenty year need and serve as a focal point for this growing community. The design reorganized the building around its historically significant original entrance on the town green, changing the entry sequence within this linear building. As part of this project, Beacon produced concept phase documents for the 2005 grant round of the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, developed the design, produced construction documents, assisted with the bidding process, and provided Construction Administration. The design team also participated in numerous town meetings, worked closely with stakeholders and donors, and provided the library with fundraising materials. In collaboration with library planners Adams & Smith.
